How many miles do you have on your E Class?
Model: E420
Country: US
Mileage: 110,xxx
Comments: Replaced one rear window regulator, oil changes every 5K miles, bulb replacements, brake light fuse replacement, 3rd brake light (rear window) replaced, 1 previous owner, other than that no major issues; drives beautiful
Model: E320
Country: US
Mileage: 152,xxx
Comments: whole lot of issues including transmission and cylinder misfiring. Can't afford to fix or maintain it. Hopefully I get 200K without having to spend too much money on it.

Year 2000
40,000 Miles
Love the car, but it just falls apart. After the extended warranty runs out, I will not be able to afford to repair it. I bought it new.
bought used in 2005 with 27,000 miles, now has 37,000.
cat went bad, Starmark covered it. Otherwise been fine. Looks new, rides and handles great.
my warranty expires in Oct. I'm scared to death! Should I buy another warranty? If so, where?
Model: E420
Country: USA
Mileage: 120k
Comments: Daily Driver (60 miles/day) for the last three years. Great car, very easy car to work on. Only a few things have gone out that I couldn't fix myself: cats, transmission module, and Vbelt, etc.
I've especially enjoyed the lower stance since I've cut my springs, this is really how the car should have been delivered new...

model e430 sports package( carlsson set-up)
Country Socal USA
mileage 115000 miles
no problem so far, still drives like brand spanking new, just regular maintinance
I have a commute that varies from 100 miles round trip upto 300 (more often not the case). I average ~45 - 50K miles a year.
Looking to hit 400K, my W201 (2.6) made it to 311K.
I've had all the typical things I've read, no tranny issues yet, nor the MAF and the windows are still cooperating.

You don't have a MAF.

Replaced ignition coils (all 3 when 1 went out, cheap prevention), plugs, wires, shocks, numerous lights. Engine oil Mobil0W40 every 5K. Drives, looks new, ice cold original air, dead steady idle in drive- totally stock for the most part except for the W211 wheels.

Mileage: 131.000 or 211.000 km
Comments: timing chain and its pulleys - gaskets, oil pump, all of fluids and filters were changed.
There was no problem in my engine, only clicking sound from the crankshaft, after replacing the chain and pulleys, everything is ok. Just wanted to see the condition of pistons and sleeves, and then I've cleaned the heads of pistons, valves and all of internal parts.
Here is my engine

Gaskets

Oil pump

Camshafts and lifters

Scratched the right piston for 15 minutes and took this photo.

Comment: All I can say is that this car keeps going. No real issues...window motors (which is extremely common) and front axle. Thought tranny went about 3 years ago...went into limp mode. All it was was a missconnection due to losening of a hose. It was like a 50 cent fix. If you take care of the car, the car will take care of you...no matter how cliche it sounds, it is sooo true!
Man I love my E...

My 1997 E420 is still going strong, the exterior and interior are immaculate. This E has been amazingly reliable, and has had the following parts replaced since I bought it in 2002 with 90,000 miles: Front upper and lower control arm bushings, tie rod ends, spark plugs, wires, alternator, 02 sensor, and a rear window regulator.
Cosmetic upgrades: Xenon projector headlights, lowered suspension with Eibach springs, genuine AMG Monoblock 3-piece 17" alloys with Michelin Pilot Sports, Wienmann cross-drilled brake rotors, tint.

bought from my brother, he had a cat replaced, rear window regulator, AC leak fixed, two coil packs. I've only had to do normal maintenance.

151,000 Miles (Purchased Nov 2004 with 92,000)
Since purchased, I have replaced brakes twice, tires, heater blower motor (replaced myself at 140,000), engine mounts (replaced myself at 145,000), and now a rear window regulator is bad. Just disconnected it.
Otherwise, this is a great car. Not worth much these days, but try to replace it with something this solid with that kind of money.
Roll on....
