I got my part in today and couldn't view most of the pictures...could this be a temporary problem with the site...or the image files are currupted.

Does anyone know where I can fine the images...since Tony don't frequent this site anymore...thanks
K-A-E make a blower motor regulator (resistor is their term for it) that is a direct replacement for the old style that is no longer available from MB. It is part # K-A-E 3.701.420. Although the base plate of the regulator is slightly larger and differently shaped from the original part the screw holes line up perfectly and and the wiring harness is direct plug and play into the original motor and chasis wiring harness.
I recently installed this unit in my 97' E320 and it works perfectly, in fact, I think the new unit blows a bit more air at the upper settings than the old one did. I removed the blower motor from the dash to make the installation but I think this unit could be installed by simply removing the underdash pad and the airbox cover and leaving the motor and blower fan installed. I found mine on eBay from All European Auto Supply

uhmmmmm....
I guess one more to go.
thanks Tony for posting that mod.
I bought the KAE replacement (140-821-8351); wired it up and soldered everything really nice but when I went to plug it in - it was "live", even though the car was off.
So I did some research and found one pther post which had the same issue - and the poster reversed the blue and black wire and it worked.
Sooo I did that too, and same problem - power to the blower even though the car is off.
So my problem is I'm getting power when I plug the harness back in, even though the car is off.
I triple checked everything - I mean it's a basic project; black to black, red to red, yellow to yellow.
WTF happened? 98 E320

So for research purposes -
If you wire the replacement regulator and the motor turns on when you plug in the harness (even though car and air power is off), you got a bad regulator.
Don'y try to re-wire it different or do any further diagnostics. Simply return the regulator for a new one.
Mine is all better now and blowing like a *****

I have '99 E300 TD.
Blow mortor is weak, so I was hoping to use W 120 replacement regulator to fix the problem.
I got the KAE replacement part but when I took out the Blow Mortor Assembly, I found a Behr A210 821 15 51 regulator plate - see attched photo. I can't attched the replacement regulator!
What are my options? Any advice?
Thanks and regards
Dominic
Here's a picture of what's inside that regulator. That plus some wires hardly seems to justify the $170.

Below you will find the link to the part that was supplied to me for 89$ from Deutsche Parts...

I installed as above and the AC and fan worked perfectly. One important note; someone above made a remark about the slight humming noise their fan was making. I need to tell you mine made that noise as well which made me think maybe there was a problem with the fan (blower) as well. Needless to say, the blower works just fine and it was ONLY the regulator fix that solved ALL problems I was having. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions...
Thanks all...

Not being a DIY guy, I ordered the part, took the instructions to my shop and had them do the work.
Charged me an hour labor.
They were very impressed with the process and said they will offer t as an option to customers.

my old blower assembly. has one connector

new blower assembly. has 2 connectors and a ground

part number.
can some one shed some light one this?

I ordered the regulator from AutoHaus after the blower which used to only run at half speed finally gave up the ghost and stopped working all together. Since it had operated first at full speed, then for so long at half speed, and then finally wouldn't blow at all, it made sense that it was most likely the regulator and not the blower motor itself.
The whole process took me about an hour, but only because I got a little OCD on the soldering.
Thanks again! A forum is only as good as its members and this one is GREAT!
This is the power of the WEB and the Availability of person.
I can save a lot of precoius Euro's.

(it seams to work ok)
Regulator came from www.worldcarparts.co.uk.
Must be a run on that part since the price came up a little.
After looking over the old part I realized why it didn't last. The part was French made. Not only that, but the heat sink portion is nearly 1/2 the size of the KAE part (which is german).
Benz aught to know better that that.
Anyways, like another poster sez. "It'll blow yer hat off!"
This fix was on a '96' E-320. It got cold in the Chitown winters up here. Thankful I found this fix before I gave up and paid for repairs.

2108211551 Blower Motor Resistor/Regulator; Late Version with Female Connector</pre> Perhaps this will help someone avoid the problem I've had. Again, the regulator for a 1998 Model E Class Mercedes is pictured above in Dominic Chang's post.
