Had a dealer friend of mine buy it from a Mercedes dealer. Retail was 1,000 but I got it for $680. Pricey I know but I've always loved those wood and leather steering wheels. Only cost $65 to have the dealer install. It's a $700+ option if you buy it with a new Benz.

I'm sure it comes in black birds eye maple. Just ask the dealer. Or check out the MB website and see if that is an option with the maple wood.

really like the way that wheel, came out, I assume you can get the wheel in any factory interior color. Seems like the hardest oart would be dealing with the air bag. I'l have to check the breakdown on All-Data, and see if I can do this at the house.

What happens to the controls on the stock steering wheel if you switch to the Black Bird steering wheel? I mean will the replacement steering wheel have the same controls too or how does that work?

A steering wheel swap takes 5 minutes, if that. All you need is a long Torx socket, I forget what size, and a 10 mm Allen socket with a breaker bar, or an impact gun if you have one. The airbag and buttons are one unit, they don't get replaced with the steering wheel, just transferred over. Pay very, VERY close attention to the little orange marks on the splines before you remove the steering wheel, it's easy to get it one tooth off, and then you have an offset steering wheel.

That would be hilarious to put a MB steering wheel in there ... but then you'd also have to put the MB-Star up front and on the rear deck lid to 'complete the look'!
Come to think of it ... Monoblocks wouldn't look bad either!
BTW: what make/model is it? I know that the inside of your cruiser is a more 'bare bones' version of the passenger model ... but that's taking it a little too far!
