I agree. The black does look better ,however I'm wondering what you're trying to achieve. Looks for your car,or looks for the road (seeing at night) ahead while driving. If it's the former, like I said, get the black. If it's the latter, get in touch with a member here named ZAM2000,he's the lighting specialist. Good luck with your project.

S, GL, Escalade ESV, my shoes
You should get neither one of these. They're both junk (made by EagleEyes). Get the Depo unit, they're a tad more pricy, but the build quality is much better.
Get pair of Depo unit, put in a pair of OEM xenon projector, ballast, and bulbs, and you're in business.

thanks for the replys, I was also thinking the black would look better on the car.
So does anyone have any hands-on experience with these?
ZAM2000, I agree with you that they're obviously not premium quality lights, but there's the issue of budget for me. Don't get me wrong though, I am so against putting low quality stuff on a mercedes. That's why I asked here.
Do you think that the beam pattern is not going to be pleasing?
I read your post on the headlight project, where can I find the OEM Hella lenses for these?
thanks

sweet mother mary...dont get neither!! the first one, my gut says they're using
smaller bulb. the second one, it does tell you it's using a weenie H1 bulb. so
unless you drive at night in downtown big city USA, you'll overrun your head-
light if driving over 40-50 mph on dark roads. sorry, to be blunt, they're
widow maker bulbs. Heed Zam's advice. do not succumb to the Dark Side
if you get Depo, be clear.... that you will be paying $350+ for lighting
which has poorer performance than MB factory lights. diminished lumens will
be apprx (seat of pants) 25%...though the cool factor will spike upwards.

well... you guys completely turned me off about the lights, which is exactly what I needed to keep me from spending all my money. so I guess I'll save up some more to get the depo's in the near future. Thanks for the heads ups.

You may spend few dollars just to "brighten" your head light lens.
