Question Aftermarket Suspension Options

Did a search, and didn't come up with anything -- are there any good aftermarket suspension setups for the E430 that would: (1) stiffen up the ride without knocking your teeth out, (2) not really lower the car that much, and (3) be "smiled upon" by MBZ in regards to the warranty (read: AMG)?

I'm looking for something that would eliminate more of the float/dive/wallowiness while more or less maintaing the current ride, and at the same time it would hold up to spirited driving (read: some time on the track).

Not asking much, am I?

TIA

sounds like eibach springs are your best choice.

Anything you do to modify or change suspension or ride will interfere with the warranty especially if you have a suspension malfunction. In other words: If you change any part of your suspension & have a problem with any related components, MB can deny the warranty of that item. My advise is to keep it original.

How about with AMG parts, since they're an MBZ-authorized tuner?

As for the E55 suspension, that's a great idea. I'll see how things go. How did you like the ride? How much did you originally pay for the components brand-new? Where did you get it brand-new? (Why don't you keep it for the next E-class you get? )

That's one hell of a good deal for that E55 AMG suspension. Already have one though.

I have never had any warranty problems with this suspension installed and I have had more than my share of trips to the service center.

The E55 suspension took my E320 from a nice ride to an amazing ride. I think this setup is the perfect balance of sport/handling and comfort. Before the E55 suspension I had H&R sport springs with Bilstein sport shocks and that was much too firm for my taste. Buy this set, you will like it.

Yes, I got the suspension new. It came from AMG germany. If I can find the paperwork, the buyer will also get that. It even includes the alignment specs (in german). I paid a bit more than my asking price, but not the $2500+ the dealer wanted.

I won't be getting a new E-class, but it will most likely be a MB.

One last note: current high bid is only $700 and the reserve has ben met.

If you have any other questions, post them or Email me.

I upgraded the shocks to Bilstein HD and it changed the ride and handling. No more mushy ride and it corners much better.
