Borla 3" Dual DTM Mufflers on W210

Hey guys I need ur help on this

i'm planning to install a quad-pipe system using two Borla 3" Dual DTM Mufflers, every exhaust shop says that I should cut the spare wheel chassis but I was wondering is it possible to do it without any cutting of the chassis?? (the System should be 2 pipes from the resonator going to two mufflers with not a far distance between each other)

Thanks

If you look under the car, you'll notice that the spare wheel tub will probably interfere with the location of the muffler on the right side of the car. You will need to cut the tub and do without a spare to get the job done. Also, I would get rid of the silencer while you are at it. I think Alexbenz did a quad exhaust system on his ride, so you should check with him to confirm this.

well guys it seems i'm in a deadlock over the exhaust situation, one of the reasons why I can't cut the spare wheel tub is that my car will definitely fail the annual inspection. But I had something else in mind tho

http://www.motorwerksgroup.com/p14/index.html

can anyone find out the part number for the replacement wheel well tub on this CLK or W211?? This could be the solution to my exhaust problems

if you are doing dual mufflers then for sure you need to cut out the spare tire area.....theres no way around this.... there was some dude ted something with a w210 e55 that did this as well.....

if you do something like what i did and also topez is a muffler with dual outlets and then you would have to cut off the tow hook in the rear....

i even believe a c32 did a c55 dual exhaust and it was the same process but taking out the tire well...

actually I'll only do one large three-chambered muffler underneath the location of the old cat convertor and direct two 3" pipe all the way to the rear ends of the bumper, from there I can add some nice dual chrome tips and rebuild my bumper to give it a W211 AMG or Lorinser look

4 wheeled car.
Actually Alexbenz did NOT cut out the spare tire compartment. I studied his system and it goes right below it. The exhaust essentially sits lower than and AMG would. If you look at his bumper cutout VS an AMG bumper, he barely cuts into it since the exhaust pipes go underneath the spare tire compartment. Doesnt look bad at all. Looks pretty badass.

I wanted to put the dual mufflers underneath the spare wheel tub and the old tailpipe but I'd have some serious dragging issues considering how bad our roads are in Bahrain (for every 200 meters of back roads there are 4 potholes) so jus to be on the safe side I've decided to remove the cat convertor and replace with high-flow mufflers.

So removing the spare tire hub would cause you not to pass inspection, but removing the cats will be OK? Sounds like some screwy laws to me.

any chassis wielding is illegal. Plus a leaky exhaust might get u into a lot of hot water, luckily not many inspectors can tell a cat convertor from a aftermarket muffler
