Does anyone have any experiance with TOYO tires? I have never heard of them but they seem highly rated. I am inclined to get Pirelli's for my E320 4matic. Driving in New Jersey. Any thoughts?

Luke redcommended Bridgestone Turanza LS-H tires. Anyone ever used them and have a recommendation?

that's a very decent tire - - I'd describe it as a good "cruiser". Don't know about any snow capability from these tires or if it's a concern for you.

TOYO has been around for a long time, I'd consider them a value leader. Have never used them so I can't relate any experience.

If you're considering this type of tire, the Yoko AVID H4S may be another one to look at if they offer the appropriate size/weight classifications.

Great "all-season" tire: Hakka WR. It will offer superior snow performance and is suitable for year round use. You are likely to find the treadwear to be less favorable compared to other tires.

Slip Slidin' Away...

I had set of Toyo tires on a Mitsubebe when I was in college. They were not much on performance but they wore like iron - kinda rode like that too come to think of it.

Fast forward "a few" years.... I was in the market about a year ago when I replaced a set of well used Michelin's on my '96 320. In order, my priorities were price/value, performance, and winter usability. I added the last one in there because I was not in the position to buy dedicated winter tires (even though I could use them on any given day between November and March here in Iowa) so I needed a tire that would provide at least some performance when the snow started to fly. Of course there is a performance trade off, but you do what you gotta' do.

I shopped all over and read everything I could (here, tirerack.com, consumer reports, etc...) and eventually settled on the Bridgestone Potenza G 009. I don't want to take anything away from Luke's recommendation; in fact I got a lot of great information from the Tire Rack's website. I did consider the Bridgestone Turanza LS-H, but thought the G 009 might be a tad better in the snow.

Having been through one season, I can testify, that I am very please with their performance - dry, wet, and snowy conditions. IMHO, the 009 strikes a great balance between great dry performance and handling yet maintains a good ability to get you around in the occasional snow storm.

Best of luck.

I bought four Bridgestone Turana LS-H tires for 116 each at a local tire shop in New Jersey. The ride is terrific and Luke said they would be very good in wet weather too.

I would also look at the Michelin Exalto A/S
