ML320, Looking for my S4
power chip dyno this sat.
ok as you guys may know i sent out my ecu yesterday and i'm getting it back tomorrow. Any bets on the performance of my car ::hp at the wheels and at the crank:: any guesses?

Did you dyno before the ecu flash to establish a baseline? What is your rwhp currently?
I'll throw out a guess and say, with the listed mods you have (intake and chip), you'll pick up 10-15 hp at best.

It probably won't do much. I've heard that the OM606 turbo engine does get a bit of a bump w/ the chip, but my guess is that it won't do much to a 6 cylinder gas engine. I hope I'm wrong for your sake. Good luck, and I'm interested to see the results.

apparently i can do a baseline on sat because the chip is able to be turned on and off

hey T- since the ECU always has to be "on", when you get the chip back with
instructions, let us know what method of toggling on/off is used, okay? this

the method is opening the ecu and taking out the powerhip board. its not easy but if it mean i ca get my baseline then so be it

something like that, its more of a socket that plugs in to the ecu. If i take out the extra board its stock. If i leave it in. its performance

The Piggy back system has been Done..I Did it on Several Porsches
It was piggy Backed at the DME/ME control unit and went to a box that contained several chips/programs.First was No Start..second Stock..third was Mild and fourth was Wild
On the 103/104 Engine one will be LUCKY to see a 12/15 HP gain minus a 10/12 % loss for drive line (HP at the wheels)

this chip that you are fitting...is it controlling timing and fuelling or just one of them...
piggyback systems usually work fairly decently when operating both parameters...but if there isnt much modification done in terms of better fuel/air mixing then the gains would be negligible. also, it wouldve been better to have gotten a reading before u sent the box in....that way u know the gains cant be falsely portrayed...
but hey, its just my 2c, and i hope that for your sake you get a favorable result. my guess.....if the car didnt have a chip before, +/- 10% increase.
if the car was chipped before, +/- 5-8hp, if any at all.

well the had been chiped before but thanks to mbz and a stupid srs light it was compleatly flashed. IDK how thats possiable, but after they did it, it was like driving a different car. They claim that my car has been severy detuned so, idk what to think. I mean if companies like brabus, renntech, kleemann, etc only give you 10hp and 10tq, i am skeptic but they are a well known company they even have an advertisement on this website. Well on a lighter note my car now has smoked TAILS!!!!. I'm just happy that i now have a mean looking e320. Even though its not as fast as i wish it was, i'm still happy with what i have. I'll post up some pics when my phone stops acting stupid.

if the crystal chip was a re-programable one, then the info could have been reset by mbz.
but if u had a piggyback system all along, then they have seriously fu**ed up somewhere.
