eh, bulbs are cheap.

That doesn't bother me.

And after doing some online searching, maintenance shouldn't be too expensive. Most parts are very reasonable.

Btw, what is everybody using for oil in the m113?

Oliver, this car is fine. And then we need to work together to make it acceptable. Wheels, suspension, air intake, exhaust, chip, and many many cosmetic mods, and we are in business. PM me.

Your tail light sockets have probably

A) Melted
B) Corroded

You will have to buy a new tail light housing

With regards to your oil question, I believe the factory recommends
Mobil 1 Synthetic 0w30

what would make you think that?

The taillight housings are pretty cheap on ebay, but the dealer said it would fix the defective light without a problem.

Your right, don't bother modding this car. Save your money for maintenance and repairs, it's never going to be a sports car anyway. I absolutely love mine, it's the best car I've ever had for long cruises. Good luck with yours

Thank you sir.

Its also a bit of a handful with repair and maintenance. It kept throwing belts after 1k miles, so I had to do about 2k worth of stuff just to keep the belt from coming off.

Im hoping for some more stability from the mb.

I'm sure it is with that much torque on demand The Benz will be a nice change of pace from that car.

There is an inherent problem with the tail lights on the Pre facelifted w210's ; they allow moisture to corrode the sockets, or they melt when in the sockets. I know this because I have seen many w210's with the same defect (including mine). If you look at the bulbs, in most cases they are not burned out its most likely due to corrosion or the socket itself melting. This is a well known problem on pre-facelifted w210's. I have seen many of them with this problem

ok, but isn't it a bit premature to assume that the socket is corroded before looking at the bulbs?

The dealer will fix the problem regardless. It would be part of the bill of sale.
