W210 E55 sway bars?

Anyone do an E55 set yet?

I am still not happy with the turn-in after doing Bilsteins and Eibachs. Still too soft in the turns.

I'm also going to ditch these 17" wheels asap, but have had a hard time finding 18" AMG monoblocks for a decent price.

Who's got them?

It's a Mercedes, not a Ferrari. No matter how hard you try it's still going to corner like a Mercedes. It's like putting earrings on a pig...

You're right in that a Mercedes will never corner quite like a Ferrari, but that's not the point. The E Class leaves a lot of room for improvement in the handling department, and you shouldn't fault him for wanting to improve the cornering of his car (which by the way is far more practical than a Ferrari).

notoriousALE, you can improve your turn-in by going to lower profile, higher performance tires on 18 or even 19 inch wheels. As far as where to get the wheels, have you tried the Tire Rack? You can also get H&R sway bars there, which will reduce weight transfer from one side to the other during cornering.

I did it! On my 1998 E320, I installed a full E55 suspension (shocks, springs, and sways). Although I can not comment on the difference between the full conversion vs. just upgraded springs and shocks, I can tell you, that the upgrade was definitely an improvement over stock.

I have W210 E55 18" Monoblocks on my 1999 C43 right now. For some reason the guy before me put them on but they don't fit at all. I'm looking for 17" Monoblocks with all season tires in the stock size for my C43 if that's what you have.

Dan,
Where did you have it done?

Was it pricey?

I am looking for E55 sway bars for a 99 E300. Also looking for 17" MBZ Mekab rims (17 x 7.5).

Thanks for any details.

I bought the whole suspension from an E55 owner who upgraded his whole car. I had a mechanic install the sways. The install was NOT easy.
