How many keys came from the factory for a 2000 W210 E320?
Hi...
Can anyone please tell me how many keys and what kind are they (valet, wallet, smart, etc.) came from the factory for a 2000 W210 E320?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for all your replies. The smart keys have a metal key on its side that can be taken out to operate the locks on the door, glovebox and the trunk, correct? By taking that metal key out, the smart key effectively becomes a "valet" key, because it can only start the engine, but won't be able to open the glovebox or the trunk (if it's double locked), correct?
But, does the wallet key look like a smart key without the buttons? Or is the wallet key just like a "regular" key, and therefore, cannot start the engine, but can only operate the locks on the doors, trunk and glovebox?
Thanks in advance!

The Smartkey can open/lock the doors, trunk, windows, roof, and start the
car. It cannot lock the glove box. Whether the metal key is attached or
removed from the Smartkey does not affect how the Smartkey functions.
The valet (aka wallet) key can start the car, but cannot lock the doors....
however the metal key appendage can open/lock doors, glove box, trunk.
Yes, it looks somewhat like Smartkey w/o the electronic buttons.
The metal key is a mechanical key which is used in traditional fashion in the
driver side door and in the trunk. Used in the trunk, it can open/close the
windows and roof. It does not possess the ability to start the car.
My car came with 1 Smartkey, 1 wallet/valet key....and each was accompanied
by metal key.

Yes, I understand how the smartkey works. Think about it, if I lock the glovebox and double lock the trunk, and remove the metal key from the smartkey, and I give the smartkey to the valet guy. Will the valet guy be able to open my glovebox and trunk? The answer is No. That's why I said by removing the metal key from the smartkey, the smartkey effectively becomes a valet key.
You mentioned that the wallet key cannot lock the doors? But the wallet key also has the metal key attached, right? So, with a wallet key, I can take out the metal key, and use it to lock the doors/trunk/glovebox using their respective lock cylinders, correct?
So, to summarize, the 2 smartkeys with the metal appendage are "master keys", but also doubles as valet keys (if I remove the metal appendage before giving the smart key to the valet guy). The wallet key is pretty much redundant, because even without the buttons, I can still lock/unlock the car using the metal appendage attached to the wallet key, and I can start the engine with the wallet key. So, the wallet key is basically a master key which can access the entire car, and start the engine, except that it doesn't have the keyless entry function.
Does this make sense?

Keys
2 Smart with remote, one Wallet or emergency key (no remote functions, but will start the car). All three have the metal emergency key. If you turn the lock cylinder 90 degrees with the metal key, the remote will not unlock the trunk. Its in the owners manual!
BTW my dealer service rep tells me the wallet key is no longer provided since people put it in their wallet and broke it (it is 1/8 of an inch thick)
