A rip off. It's basically an oil change, and then they "check" a bunch of other things. If something is wrong with these other things, then you will have to pay extra to get them fixed.

Basically a tune up and an oil change. They also lubricate the door hinges, change the interior blower filter, measure the thickness left of the brakes, the % of tires remaining, top off all fluids, and check things like belts, hoses, condition of fluids, gaskets, etc. If you want to save a few hundred bucks, change the plugs, wires and airfilter yourself. Good luck. Hopefully they dont find much.

The "b' in b-service stands for 'butt', or where they insert their tools. As already noted, it isn't much more than a fancy oil change. If under original warranty, may as well bite the bullet and smile. If not, go to an Indy and get an oil change.

I think you should ask around for a good MB specialist in your area. The shop I take my car to is run by two brothers whom are dealing with older MB all the time. Their showroom is filled with previous models and they are experts that don't want to rip you off. ie if they find something on the exhaust they call me up if I want it welded or replaced, and on my W124 they even switched rear brakepads from left to right so they would wear out evenly! Get this: they still have to remove the wheels and pads and clean everything; the stealer would simply put in new pads while not yet necessary...
