All power windows won't go up (98 E320)

Hello All-

In my 98 E320 I recently had my sunroof repaired (cable assembly had to be replaced) and my driver side power seat switch replaced.

I drove the car for a day, let it sit for a week or so, and now come to find that all four power windows go down, but will not go up.. Only the down direction on the windows seem to be affected. Also, the autodown and auto-up feature did not work, which was my first clue something was wrong. Maybe a wire is crossed or not grounded. I can't drive the car or wash it (*gasp*) with the windows down, so I'm looking for some urgent help.

Can anybody give me a hint on where to look for the problem? Any wiring diagrams would be helpful if somebody has a source.

Thanks!!

Update - auto-down/auto-up doesn't work

OK after some troubleshooting now the auto-up and auto-down features on my power windows does not work.

Can anybody shed some light as to what this might be or where I can start troubleshooting?

How do I reprogram Auto-feature?

Don't mean to sound like an idiot, but how do I reprogram the autofeature?

I don't have a user manual for my 98 E320 so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks-

With The Key On Roll each Window Down one at a Time and Hold the Switch in the Down Poss For 5seconds then release
Roll Each Window Up ...One at a Time and Hold the Switch In the Up Position For 5 Seconds
Do This One at a Time and This Should Fix The Auto program

Reprogramming windows worked!

Thanks for the help!! Reprogramming the auto-down and auto-up feature worked!!

Saved me a trip to the shop. Mercedes would have charged me for that, no doubt.

The owner's manual. If you don't have one, you'll want to get one. It will also answer questions like, "why is there no hot air blowing from the center vents?"
