I went to the dealer and stated that, they looked at me like I was retarded.
Any chance you have the part number????
The whole time they want to sell me the whole map collection....

Mercedes and Bosch (the makers of COMAND) have made 3 releases of software-update disks avaliable to fix bugs and improve functionality. The latest release was done in 2002, and is part number W230 589 00 22 00 (known as the Software Service CD MY2001). If you have an older COMAND it adds a nice Mercedes startup logo and predictive text when entering street names.
Note that there are some early E class COMANDS that can not be updated - they just power off during the update process, and you have to remove the fuse to revive them.

ok, so i went to the dealer, ordered the part, came back, picked it up, while i was driving, i popped in the cd, it starts the update, completes it, but then it says activeating navigation, please obey all traffic rules...or something like that....and it stays there....it doesnt turn off....doenst reset...nothing....it just stays there.....am i doing something wrong....please help me out

Update
After lots of trial and error, and dealing with these ridiculous people at MB parts...i have the cd...and i followed all of the instructions in the PDF...thnx for that guide
until i get here
im suppose to press START HEAD UNIT....but it wont let me actually start it
i can highlight it but when it comes to actualy pressing it down it doesnt do anything....it only lets me push down on cancel
anybody know what to do...IM GOING ******* CRAZY OVER THIS LITTLE THING
