I searched....Spark Plugs
I want to change the plugs in my 00 E430. It has 90K miles and im sure they have never been changed. I want copper. Anyone using the NGK's? Or have any suggestions. I know I need 16. Any links or personal experiences would greatly be appreciated.

OE plugs are platinum
No way a "copper" plugs gets a 100K change interval recommendation.
Your owners manual probably tells you the NGK recommendation is PFR 5 R-11.

The OE Bosch platinum plugs are not the K-Mart platinums you see all the full-page ads for, but rather plugs designed specifically for this engine.
The are F 8 DPER
However, Bosch is eliminating all its nonresistor plugs and replacing them with resistor versions. They say it's no problem.
New plug for your car is FR8DPP33 ... which is something you can look up here

Since all this resistor/nonresistor stuff irritates me, I'm switching to Beru

The information you have about "copper" plugs is incorrect.
The platinums in question have only a button of plat on the end of the center electrode and on the side electrode. The core remains copper or whatever.
ANY variance from Mercedes-recommended plugs will NOT improve anything--rather it will degrade your system. Neither you nor I have friends who nor is their anyone on any forum who knows more about this than Mercedes.

They throw in "100k" mile plugs, and call it a day.
A copper plug has just as strong a spark as platinum if not more so.
My stock cobra motor had platinums in it. Now with 20psi of boost, I run copper.
Copper plugs work perfectly, at the expense of changing them more often.

ML320, Looking for my S4
DONT USE BOSCH 4 POINTS!!!!!!! as a word of advice if you do change them every 20-30K they have a tendency of breaking, and thats not good. Btw NGK's are great.

I replaced the plugs on my C43 with Iridiums and I am very, very happy with them. In fact I will use them again. I was very disappointed with the Bosch plus four on my Toyo. In this post I have a 'how to' on replacing the plugs on a 113 motor ---> LINK
