Fuel economy

How do your W210 do on fuel. Mine gets a whopping 7-10 miles to the gallon on the highway.

Mine 96 gets 25 MPG.

You may have messed up on one of your mods.

Disconnect the drag shoot...

Mine gets about 18. Honestly, all these people that say they get 25+ mpg, i think they are exagerating.

No exagerating. You should be getting at least 20 MPG.

Your xenon bulbs are killing your mileage, lol. Seriously, I am able to get 25~26 mpg hwy doing 70 mostly on cruise consistently. Combined city/hwy about 22. Not bad for a 4Matic, 110kmiles still on original spark plugs soon to be replaced.

Cheers.

I have been getting about 19-20 average. For a tank filled to the cap I get 380 miles then the light goes on. I believe about 4-5 gallons are left from the light to completely empty.
Nonetheless, Its a Mercedes ! I did not buy it for fuel economy, I bought it for ride, comfort and style.

E210
My 2000 W210 averaged 24.5mpg on a 1000 mile round-trip from Austin to New Orleans last week. I've found tire inflation makes a huge difference on this car. Fronts at least 36, rears over 40.

OP, if you're getting 7-10mpg, your car is f##Ked up. no other explanation possible.

i drive minimum 80mph on MI highways, and average 24MPG on my E420. On my E55, I average 22MPG.

Get your car checked out ASAP

No way you get 7 mpg highway unless you have a fuel leak or filling up on something other than gasoline.

NOS

damn man...i dont see our cars using NOS, get a bimmer, especially a 3-Series or a M3, those are upgrade friendly, i just cant see a w210 with NOS, would be cool to see it though, i think maybe a 40-60 shot, depends on fuel mods, miles on the engine, all that..

I thought you said "highway"? I go all over the same metro area, and get the same mileage as the other guys but don't have any of your mods. Good luck my friend because fuel ain't going to get cheaper.

Just how big are those fuel injectors... something out of a Freightliner? Seems to me that something is way off on your set up... I've got a Suburban 5.3 liter four-wheel drive that in city driving only does better than that. Take it out on the highway and it can top out at 18+ mpg.

That can't be right!!! I'm in LA and can understand traffic just as well. I'm getting 18-19 mpg on the highway on long drives and 13-14 mpg in traffic and I'm not driving Ms. Daisy!

I haven't the slightest idea of how much it could hold but I don't think I'd waste time/money/effort to do just a 40-60 shot. You'd hardley even notice it.

If you don't go 100 shot you won't feel much. And even with a 100 shot you'd still be slow. In my opinion these cars need a minumum of 400+ hp to even be remotely quick next to today's cars.

Just my opinion.
