Seats upgraded yesterday
Seat donor was wrecked 210 E55 Designo; recipient was my 1999 E320.
Great improvement in back support for those long rides. Controls next
to the base of front seats actuate air...which pumps up bladders in seat.

The cabin environment has changed from serious/mature....to a more sporty
feel now.
Seats were from Sunil, which just happened to match to my interior. I paid
(dearly) to have them shipped from Houston to Seattle. Seats plugged right
in to the terminators already on the car, but air lines needed to be routed
and piped to PSE pump beneath rear seat. Sunil then coded so that all the
appropriate devices were introduced to each other...and to fully function.
Seat comfort, both front and rear, was noticeably improved....though far
from the comfort of 211 AMG multicontour seats. (If you have the oppor-
tunity, set you bu-hind into one of these and you'll never want to leave
the car....or will try to buy the car!)
Controls are located on slim outrigger pods between front seat and console.
Air bladders for front seat (below knees), lumbar (high and low), and side
bolsters. Blip of the control bleeds air to de/inflate. Driver side control was
partially inop; Sunil ordering new module.
Nice that he had the matching door panels as well. Anthracite wood inserts
removed and replaced, reusing my existing burl walnut door inlays....and to
retain match with console.
The black oval SRS you see in the front door photo were from the old door.
Sunil is ordering replacement to match (same as you see in rear door panel).
Leather surfaces are softer and more supple than standard leather. Foam is
also thicker....and instead of sitting on the seats, I now sit IN them.
Intriguingly, the driver seat has less vertical travel then the pax seat, placing
me lower then the old seat. Sunil pointed out the gearing below the cushion,
verifying that it had indeed, reached full height.
I had some buddies slide into the back seat....those who were accustomed to
back seat driver status in my car. They smiled and immediately commented
on the softer....kind-to-your-butt feel.
Did not come with cooling/ventilation feature, though heating pads were equipped.

That Designo color is perfect with your exterior. You have, without a doubt, the nicest seats of any 99 E320 worldwide! Excellent job Ray!
