Whats the best gas brand?

I have been using Shell 93 premium for over a year now. My friend only uses Chevron in his 911 and he swears by it. I was gonna try Chevron but don't know if its a good idea to switch after a year of Shell. I know most people couldn't careless which gas they run but I love my baby and want the best for her.

Chevron and Shell are both the best. It's debatable which one is better, but I use both.

Actually, the E320 usually uses Chevron and the C230 usually uses Shell.

Additionally, there have been some reports that some people who use Shell tend to get slightly better fuel economy. I haven't been able to confirm this from my own experience though.

On rare occassions, either car may be filled up at 76 (Conoco Phillips in some areas) but this is avoided if possible.

The most important thing when driving such high-performance cars is that you should;
1. Use higher octane fuel
2. Use a fuel with a lot of detergents (such as those considered as Top Tier gasolines).

You can do a search about Top Tier Gasolines on Google.

Although 76 is considered a Top Tier Gasoline with a lot of detergents, I specifically try to only use Chevron and Shell.

For Diesel I prefer Esso (Exxon) overhere. It has a more clear color than other brands and there's something to it like the engine 'seems' to be just a tad more responsive although this is probably more emotional than actual. Besides Esso I prefer Shell Diesel. I've never tried Shell's V-Power Diesel though. It's more expensive and only gives optimal results with direct-injected engines where mine's no CDI...

2001 E320 RWD - Brilliant Silver/Ash: 100,000+
A debatable issue as it has already become on this thread. I prefer Chevron Supreme (93 octane here) but I will use Shell V-Power 93 as an ocassional alternative. Like Patrick suggested, use Google to review what are considered to be the the "Top Tier" gasolines. Interestingly, BP/Amoco and Exxon/Mobil did not make that list.

Have used Shell for 44 years....

and never had a problem with any fuel system components or the engine in any of my cars. It's always the suspensions or accessories that bite me.

I own a 1999 W210 Mercedes.
same s#!T

All gas comes from the same place, but if you want to get picky, then go with either Chevron or 76. I think those are the best and i always use them. I always pump 91+ octane.
