Brakes

Hey everyone i am gonna be doing a brake job on my e430 in week or so using gregs210 DIY article. I was wondering what pads to get. Either stick with OEM or get after market thats betters than the OEM pads overall. Can anyone recommend to me a few pads to consider. Im not to sure as to whats out there. Also how would i tell or know if i need to replace the rotors? Car has 78000 rotors were never changed yet. Is there a mm thickness they should be between?

Also since im gonna be doing this myself any particular places people like to order online?

Thanks in advance

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
Specs

on min thickness are on the rotors, are they dead smooth? If so you can go another set of pads, just rough up rotors to set new pads,i hand turn them and criss cross a 600 grit disc in a drill
germanstar.net has pads for about $45front and less for the rear.If you need rotors If I remember they are about $200 for all four and always of course replace both sides if one is bad.Get good stands,do one side at a time, work safe, clean, and take your time.
have fun

"GOT CODES?"
also autohausaz.com is worth a check, they ship for free over $50.both are very good suppliers, others will suggest more,as to the pads, the oem from above are nice pads perform well and don't exhibit fade in normal, even hard driving, and very little dust.

brake pads.

Right now im just debating on which pads to get. ATE ( from german star cheapest priced pads of the three) or Textar and pagid from autohausaz/ autopartswarehouse.Currently on my car i have pagids and they produce quite a bit of brake dust, but brake very good with no noise squeal. I dont mind the brake dust as long as i have good brakes that dont squeal on me. How will textars and ATE compare? Equal brake dust and performance? I dont mind trying out another brand as long as performance is overall equal.

Autohaus AZ pads are horrible. Ive tried some and they went defective within a year of driving. About 8k miles. I have switched to the brembo slotted rotor with the Akebono pads (also found on the Mclaren Mercedes F1 car). Stopping power is better and there is like 99% less dust. I dont have to wipe my rims off anymore either. Cant argue with those results.
