Finally got my baby some socks!

BBK that is ..yup it is in! Took 5 hours to do the install.. We have to trim down the rear heat shield as the rear BBk is a lot larger than stock. Only constructive comments please

Enjoy!

one question though, the car is vibrating at 60-70mph only? Any clue why is that? I mean the car was not behaving before the bbk. I was thinking if it was the tire balance. But it seems a little weird right after the install. Any takers?

Looks amazing! Are the ASA wheels vibration free? Did the vibrations start only after installing the new BBK, and only when applying the brakes? Let us know how much the BBK was and where you bought it from. The combination of the ASA wheels and those massive slotted/drilled rotors looks really tight! As for the vibration, I would first check the torque on your wheel bolts. I am always surprised the MB how slight differences in wheel bolt torque can cause minor vibrations. If you have a lathe handy, you could chuck up each rotor and check it with a dial indicator while spinning the rotor slowly to ensure that the rotor surfaces are true. If not, any rotor resurfacing machine at a brake shop can perform the dial indicator test to check the run-in on your new rotors. Also, check the torque specs on the bolts that attach the rotor discs to the rotor hubs with a torque wrench to make sure they are equal all the way around.

Thanks guys!

I have had those ASA for almost 2 years and zero problems. From what I recalled, the wheels on the fronts are about 24 lbs and rears about 26 lb. Properly balanced since then. The vibrations only appears on the highway (smooth surface) around 60-70 mph. Steering wheel and seats shake a little. It doesn't happen below or above these speed. No the vibrations happens during driving, not braking.

At any rate, I will try to rebalance all tires to see if the problem goes away. I will keep you guys updated

No need to change the master cylinder. My tech told me MB's master cylinder can last forever. We just bleeded the brake fluids...

The brakes work soooo good! I would warn all my passengers now to put on seat belts all the time to make sure they don't get thrown into the windshield

Yo dude, long time no chat! The ride is awesome and braking is great. It stop perfectly just in time I got those painted reflectors at Evosport a while back. Cost like $85; may be higher now.

Do you still want those city lights I got? Or any takers? The city lights that I am using are the typical 168 5W, so there's no use for me...

Nice setup! Yeah... I did my install too & it took a good 5.5 hours! Well worth it! I did the sports slotted instead of the sports drilled!

Brakes look sweet!! What size rotors are you running?

I just installed my Brembo's the other day and the difference from stock is amazing. I'm assuming your Stoptechs are a huge improvement too. FWIW I have no vibrations or other issues with my install. The only real problem was the rear dust shield needed trimming and also we managed to strip a bolt hole. Did you do the install yourself?

I hear that! I am lucky my spare will barely clear the rear brakes. If I ever get a flat on a front tire I will have to put the spare on a rear and then take that rear and put it on the front. That will be fun!!

We don't get too much snow around here so I don't have to worry about winter tires.

There used to be several other posters with BBK. Godfather, Hubert, E43, and some others.
I haven't seen too many recent posters with BBK so maybe we are the last of the bunch.

Don't get me started on Godfathers partout. I actually paypal'd him money for his BBK but he changed his mind and sent me back the money. As far as I know his car and Hubert's were sold with the BBK still on them. None the less you and I were both trying to say the same thing...... We may be the only people on this board currently running BBK. Although I'd guess there has to be at least a few others.

You are correct, both cars were sold whole, no part out. I had quite a few parts on the car that I wanted except the BBK from the Godfather and then he sold it all together.

I've also been thinking about some bigger brakes but I'm convinced at this point that I'm more concentrated on making the car run faster than stopping, lol. My AMG brakes work just fine for me on the street but once I take this thing out to the track, it might be a different story...

Thats good because with the lip on your front wheels it looks like you would have no chance of fitting a Brembo kit without changing out your wheels. My front calipers sit very close (1/4")to the face of the wheels. The rears sit back at least an inch from the wheel faces.

Don't let the lip mislead you, lol. I actually have about 2 fingures of space between my stock AMG brakes and the inside of the rim right now so I should be able to clear without a problem. The C-class that these wheels was on was running Brembos all around without issues. We'll see, I love the look of BBK and that's what making me think about it even more...

+1, the offset plays a major role of fitment...

I wouldn't say a "performance test" but all I can say is that before the bbk, you really have to press hard to make the car stops. After the bbk, you don't have to work as hard on the brake pedals to a complete stop. I am still in the break in stages so I can't give a full review. I remembered one day when I slammed on the bbk, the tires chirps like crazy because it wasn't gripping at all. I had Pzero M+S at that time and they are not quite grippy. I will do that again with the new Potenza RE750 to see if it does that again or not... stay tuned.

I have always want to find a stock E320 to compare side by side in terms of 0-60 and 60-0 to see how much of a difference they have (closed course of course)
