w210 here i come!
Was ready to buy my 2008 c350 and put $15k down but decided what a waste of money! I'm tired of monthly car payments and so I thought why not an 01 E320 
drove my friends around for a couple hours the other day, plenty of power, good brakes, he also had 2 12's in the back and navigation. Hard to see what rims might look good on this car, how's the ride quality with 18's, 20's?

I would
check the shocks if your ride is bad on stock 17's,my 99 has the stock 16's and it rides so smooth it's like butter!!

my neighbor's selling his 97 e320 for 7500 black with tan BLEK! i like the interior of the 00-01 better, steering wheel looks nice and newer key 
after searchin around i agree with your posts about 17's, mabye a 1/2 inch drop also. I hate gaps!!!!

The car crashes pretty hard over bumps up front.
its only got 52k miles on it too.
im thinking the 4matic front suspension is partly to blame.

is about the life of oem benz shocks,so times 6.2=30's to 50tho miles,it is like the frog in the pot story,put him in hot,he jumps out.Put him in cold and slowly bring it to heat,he's cooked!shocks go down hill so gradually you don't notice it until you get new ones,and then oh what an improvement!!!!!!!!

Several nice ones at good prices
right now on san diego craigslist and other ca areas,if you use mozilla firefox go to crazedlist .org and you can search all or just part of the country at one time ,it is a program that some guy developed to search all the craigs without having to enter each city.That's how I located our 99wagon,drove down to sd from seattle and drove it back.Great car at only $9500 for a mint wagon.

hiwind: Thanks. That is a bit too far for a 97 E320 but one never knows. I think the cars there in general are rust free, right? Transport cost is probably around $1-1.5k.
ohlord: How is the market in Seattle? Do cars rust there? I have a conference during the week of OCT 22 - 25 so I might keep my eye open.

have found that the market up here is filled with dreamers,the buy high ,try to sell high guys.That is why,(and it seems like we have benz's coming out of the wood work up here)
,that is why I shopped ca., bigger pop. to pick from and more realistic pricing.Our wagon was from marin county and inherited by the owners son and he did not need another car,I became the benefactor of a very clean,well maintained,like new wagon.Drove it north 1300 miles in 19hours without so much as a hiccup.
The deals are out there if you shop,inspect,and wait to find the right one.
Seattle cars don't have rust issues,no salt on the roads in winter,it hardly ever snows in the city area,and lots of the cars are garaged.
Let us know when you are coming and maybe raymond and I will meet with you for lunch.He lives south I live north we are both fans of the w210
