Missing Pixels
Having a new issue on my 99 E320. The climate control unit is missing part of pixels on the passenger side display , strangely enough this problem was right after we have the interior carpet shampooed and the engine steam cleaned.
Is it a possibility that some water splashes got in the climate control unit causing this issue or is this is a common issue as the car ages. Also any input on potential fixes …..if this isn't a DIY exercise I will take it to my mechanic.

I had a similar problem on an Audi 100 quattro on the dashboard info panel I used to have. It's just a tiny bit of dirt and/or corrosion interfering with the connections.
I disassembled the whole panel and cleaned all the contacts with metholated spirits and an old toothbrush and sometimes a suade brush (if the contacts were particularly corroded) prior to re-assembly. The question is . . . do you feel brave enough?

This is a common problem and they're missing on mine too. It hasn't bothered me enough to spend the $250+ bucks to have it repaired but it's up to you. You need to find someone outside of the dealer to repair them. There's someone on ebay fixing them but you have to remove and send your cluster for the repair, which will leave you without a car for a couple days.

Mine is missing the "auto" label.
Doesn't really bother me.

Same problem
I have the same problem, but my temp. indicator works when it feels like it. I can look down and see 1/2 a 6 and a 9. The next minute I'll look down and see the whole 69. Then next time its blank. Where is the temp. sensor? I also have issues with the clock. Most pixels are out. Has anyone taken a shot at fixing these problems?

I have the same problem. My clock and gear display in the gauge cluster is almost completely gone on my 2000 E320. Is there any way to fix this without sending to a shop? I kinda miss the clock. My Alpine has one but it's kinda small.

I did inspect the car ans I believe I got a good deal on the car , under 18K with only 39k miles. They are going to fix it, just was adding to someones lament. You certainly offered up a lot of help.

I knew they were out, but I got a good deal, 17K with 44K miles. I'm a fix it kind of guy. I figured I could fix it myself. I am surprised no one has posted a thread on how they fixed it themselves. I recently sold a BMW 740I. Their was a BIMMER website that dudes fixed everythng. I only had to have a mechanic look at it once. Every other time, I got a "how to" from that website.

A
good deal on a 2000 is 10-11 grand so if you paid $17,000,the least you should have expected was that the display worked properly.
Those are tiny little pixels and the place that repairs them for about $250 has all the supplies and special testers to do the repair. If it were a Connection or harness issue, someone here or on benzworld.org has a fix,you just need to search it out.
Interested in more DIY related issues bounce between her and the diy section at benzworld.org w210 section.Between the two sites and the knowledge base of the forum members you could build a w210 from the ground up.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
