Help, my steering wheel is stuck in the UP position on my 01 E320. I used to be able to move it up and down and the memory settings would go to that position, but it moved SLOWLY and sounded TIRED.
It will move In and OUT and everything else in the memory settings work. When the wheel moves in and out, it moves quickly to position but, WHEN the wheel moved up and down (before this problem) it moved SLOWLY.
What's up and How do I (not stealer) fix it? Is there a way to get to these parts to check them out??

All the
servos are located in this rats nest,if you are a diy'r and know how to check circuits, this is where you will end up.Get the wis subscription.Make a copy and dig in.http://w210.pietrzyk.net/disassembly_interior.htm
Start by checking the fuse first,in case it is toast.

just checked mine(99)sounds like it is a single motor serving two functions.May be a loose gear.you might be able to get enough room by just removing the under dash, and leave the steering wheel in place.
disc the neg lead to the battery,in that little door in the rear pass area.
have your radio code handy for the reset when you are done.
Always disc the battery when working around the steering wheel.air bag safety!
