Infant & Child Seats
Folks--would someone please tell me about your experiences with the MB carseat for infants-to-2 year-olds?

I recommended a friend of mine to check them out earlier this year and they were able to buy one online from a Mercedes dealer in Germany. Even though it cost them a lot of money in shipping charges, they are extremely happy with it and are looking to get the next size up now since their baby is growing up fast. They would not consider anything else at this point in time.
Hope it helps.
Cheers

As a subscriber to Owners Online I received this email newsletter back on May 9, 2007. I'm enclosing the header picture of said newsletter:
Thank you for driving a Mercedes-Benz and for being a member of Owners Online.
Mercedes-Benz now offers a full family of child safety seats1 — three models that follow the growth of your children. Each model has been crash-tested in Mercedes-Benz vehicles. BabySmart™, technology exclusive to Mercedes-Benz, deactivates the passenger front air bag of system-equipped vehicles when a BabySmart-compatible seat is properly installed.2 Additional features include:
• Designed, engineered, and crash-tested for safety and durability
• EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) impact foam around critical areas to maximize both safety and comfort
• Covered in soft textured grey fabric to complement any vehicle interior
• Removable, washable seat cover
• May also be used in non-Mercedes-Benz vehicles
BabySafe Plus Infant Seat
• Accommodates children up to 29 lbs (approximately 0 to 15 months)
• Features an adjustable harness system, integrated head support, and variable recline angle adjustment
• Universal LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system-compatible
DUO Plus Toddler Seat
• Accommodates children 20 to 40 lbs (approximately one to four years)
• Features a push-button harness adjuster, multi-angle recline, and a standard TopTether attachment
• Universal LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system-compatible
KID Booster Seat
• Accommodates children 40 to 79 lbs (approximately 3 ½ to 12 years)
• Features side impact protection, adjustable headrest, and a slip-resistant base
• Lightweight, folding design allows for easy installation, carry, and carpool
Visit your nearest Mercedes-Benz Dealer to purchase child safety seats for your vehicle.

At the time of my previous posting I researched to check what was available online and was surprised to find absolutely nothing from Mercedes USA. I have again researched today to no avail. It remains a total mystery to me that I suspect has some legal issues behind it.
I am enclosing the Child Safety PDF brochure from Mercedes New Zealand, hoping it will illustrate you more on what's available.
Hope it helps.
Cheers.
