Wierd dealership experience, can anyone shine light?
The alignment was for $100. In a few hours he calls me back to inform me that the camber is WAY off and it needs bolts. In effect, the bolts will cost $350 more. I tell him to forget it because I will lower the car in a few weeks and will need alignment again. So he says the tech will get it as close as possible without the bolts.
A few hours later he calls to inform me that the car is ready. He goes on to say that the tech had a spare pair of bolts laying around and he threw them on for free.
?1) are camber bolts needed for the rear?
2) does anyone do this for free?
3) how can I check for the bolts myself?
the rear camber on non amg cars comes at greater expense if out of range, pricey units from speedybenz etc.
The only way I can think of checking the bolts is on the align machine because they are used when the original adjustments are unable to achieve and the bolts and position of the bolts is needed to bring it into spec.
only pic I could find of a custom set up like the speedy benz.
