Ashtray Light blown
hi all,
I am new here. I recently bought a 2000 e430 4-matic, and my ashtray light is blown. Does anybody know what I have to do to fix this problem. THanks

I would pull the ash tray assembly out and replace the bulb. There are 2 screws under the wood panel around the shifter that has all of the window switches in it. Lift that panel up at the edge next to the cup holder, slide it back and take the screws out that hold the ash tray assembly in.

The ring around the shift box holds it on tight. I pull up just enough to hear it pop loose then remove the ring. The window switch module on the back of the wood panel should keep it from flexing or bending enough to crack the wood. The video make it look easy.

no need to unhook the window module just move it aside to get at the ash tray screws.
