Hello;

I got this message today on my display.
Do I have to go right now to the shop, or can I drive it a few weeks?

This indicates you have less than 2mm left on the brake pads based on the wear sensor attached. Yes, have the brakes inspected as soon as you can. Good luck.

Order the parts

diy above or on benzworld.org,or find a good indie shop now ,before you chew into the rotor and with luck you can get 1 more use with just a pad change

I always just change the rotors anyways. They are not that expensive and they warp very easily.

Smile I did it myself!

So,,
I looked at the section on brake jobs and gave it a try.
It took about 4 hours on the left side to get the tools, put the car up, make the bleader and change the pads.
the right side took less than 15 minutes as I had everything in place and had learned how to do it. It really IS easy and I don't think I will ever pay someone to do this again!
I got parts from MB and they were extremely helpful, pads, sensors, fluid, grease 114$US.
I drove the car a week 'favoring' the brakes, down shifting, driving slow, and keeping a very lite peddel on the brakes.
The pads were all the same with wear just down to the sensor, i could have gone another week or so,if I could have put up with the constant warning message in the display.
The rotors looked ok but the next time I will do them al$o.
Thanks for all the pictures and diy!
