New E55 side skirts on a '99??

In trying to decide what body kit options to go with, I like the carlsson kit for my '99 the best, but don't like the side skirts much. Does anyone know if the newer style amg/e55 side skirts as seen on '02 e55's will fit the older style w210's??

Thanks.

it can be done because i saw a pre-2000 E430 sport with updated side skirt from the post-2000 sports version in front of the Century Club in Los Angeles last year. Maybe the rear bumber can be updated also, but i am not sure.

Rear bumper also? I'm thinking with the way the lines look, the side skirts might look funny without the rear bumper....? I know the front won't fit, but I really like the Carlsson pre-2000 front bumper. Thanks for the replies guys.

Sounds awesome. After I get my suspension figured out, I will most likely sport the new AMG side skirts and rear bumper, with a carlsson front bumper. Thanks again for the info.

Yes. The only one that's not going to work is the fron bumper cuz of the style.

IMHO stick with the ones for the 96-99 models. Not sure the 'hodgepodge' mix and match look will look balanced. Good Luck!

Well i think the 2002 style amg sideskirts and rear bumper flow together nicely. The carlsson front is about as close to the new front bumper as I can get... I think it will look clean....the '96-'99 amg kit is just ugly.

although pics of the older kits are hard to come by, here is a pic of the front bumper, '96-'99 Carlsson body kit. I just don't think I like the side skirts. The new AMG skirts and rear bumper are so nice, might go well with this front bumper.. What do you guys think?

I agree, the Carlsson frnt Bumper looks much nicer than the amg. I like you , have been contemplating the the same approach to getting the right look.

Will the side skirts hide the rubber trim at the door bottom?

as far as I know, you have to live with the black rubber door trim, as it won't hold paint well, which really stinks on a white car, but what can ya do...

As far as fitting the new style amg bumper to the older E210s, has anyone actually done this? Some earlier in this post have claimed it fits....... I called Gaston at Autoclass in miami, and he said yes it will fit, they've done it to a few cars, but it requires brackets, which are available at the MB dealer. He wouldn't give me part numbers, probably because he didn't want me to shop for a better price....and said the brackets would be about $150. If anyone else has any info, that would be great.

How much have people been quoted for painting/installing a body kit? Gaston said about $1200, which I was abit surprised by, I figured less.....?

Where did you find the best price on the Carlsson frt bumper?

The blk photo has pretty much sealed the deal for me, now I just need to find the right skirt and rear bumper combo. Actually like the stock (non-amg) 2000+ setup. wish I knew what needs to change to do that switch.
