MAF or Vacuum Leak issue
My question to others who have had the MAF issue is around the vacuum hoses, do I really need to change these or should I change the MAF DIY and see how the car behaves? Also I have searched but didn’t find the DIY link for changing the MAF, if someone has the link that would apply to my 01 W210 kindly reply to this thread.
take a print out of the internet price of the #94169 obd2 scanner
get one at the store they will match the internet price of $39 read your own codes when they come back on.Maf codes are usually indicated by fuel trim codes p0170 and p0173 are those the codes he pulled.
Diy cleaning of maf on benzworld.org w210 diy section use only crc brand maf cleaner from any good auto supply store.
R/R of maf takes ten minutes if you want to replace it if the codes I mentioned are the ones you have.

How much is he going to charge you for plugs that you can do the whole job yourself for less then $90 and that's including the $28 special plug boot removal tool i can sell you delivered for $28.
And any mechanic worth his salt knows that if not abused Mercedes coil on cylinder plug wires rarely go bad and need not be replaced especially at 90k miles.
If you are going to inquire as to what to do then why toss good money at some guy who is willing to remove the money from your wallet at the mere suggestion of something he feels you need.
That car is going to get real costly to maintain at this rate
