Transmission Problem, Threw Code 700
first the car sorta clunks in gear, when the car is cold when i put it in D, it takes about a second for it to engage the gear
i had the car scanned when i got a CEL..and got the Code 700
other than that the car drives fine...what should i look for?

Transmission Control Module P0700
Malfunction or Failure.Since it has not stopped dead it is a malfunction warning.
You need to check that the connector on the transmission passenger side is not leaking fluid into the tcm. They are known problem areas. If you diy you can pick up the upgraded parts for less then 20 bucks from the dealer and install them yourself.Always a good idea to check the trans fluid level(I sell the required dipstick for $40 delivered)to make sure it is at the proper level after the repair.
How many miles on the car?and has the trans fluid and filter been changed?mb spec fluid only....

go to www.everythingbenz.com and search 722.6 transmission leak and you will find info on the diy
