Strange noise when starting?

Today on my way to the office i slightly bottomed out (passenger side front bumper) but i checked and all was fine. Then i came back to start the car and it made this very odd sound like it revved but sounded like a freight truck. I then drove and it was fine(nothing wrong at all). I then shut the car off and started it again and nothing it was perfect. So i went back out about an hour later and started and it did it again, I then shut it off and restarted and it was fine. But every time i let it sit and start it, it makes this odd noise(sounds like its revving but is very loud and distorted). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bobby

Possibly a failing fan clutch? Would you describe the noise a bit more?

I think you are right i noticed the temp gauge raising to about 3/4 and checked the fan which was not spinning. Any idea on how to fix this?

It was actually the fan. When i bottomed out, i must have hit it hard enough to cause the radiator support to push up making the fan hit the shroud. So i pulled it back to factory spec and no noise or any other problems. thanks for the help guys.

You

are not the first member to have that happen on your year model. So anyone searching --car bottomed out---,overheating,fan not spinning may benefit from your experience in the future.
and now you know not to do it again
