Oil change using an oil extractor w/ pictures...

Bought an oil extractor and changed the oil and filter on my 2001 E320. All went great and sure is a simple way to change the oil and filter, with no mess...

Already gone through this in another thread and I gave up trying to find other viscosty oil; can't get 0W-40 in my area, either from a retail store or the M-B dealer. The ONLY oil the M-B dealer will sell me for my 2001 E320 is 5W-40, nothing else.

For whatever the reason, that's the way it is here. I guess other areas or other states dealers are recommending another oil viscosity. I'm not advising anyone to use any particular oil or viscosity; the thread is simply information on using a specific Harbor-Freight oil extractor/evacuator... tons of how-to-change-your-oil information all over the Internet...

at least.....Richard has one of the lowest mileage E320s on this planet. I'd
be surprised if it is over 6k.

Just curious, where did you get the Mobil 1 5w 40 ESP Formula M to buy? I have never seen it in a store here in the Chicagoland area.

Hey Raymond, how's things in Washington state?

I'm driving the vehicle almost daily now, so I'm at 4,600 miles!

Locally (Northern California) it's only available from M-B dealers or wholesale oil companies. According to the Mobil 1 website, it's not available in bulk containers (5.4 quarts) like other Mobil 1 viscosities at Walmart and Mobil doesn't offer case-discounts if you buy direct through them.

ESP Formula M

Thanks. I figured it was dealer only. Was just hoping that Mobil1 had started to sell it to the public. As a point of interest, someone at Mobil 1 told me the "M" in Formula M was for Mercedes. I bet they have a contract together.
