Oil plug leaking

I took my car to a quick lube for an oil change and now it is leaking from the oil drain plug. It is too late to call them since their closed.I jacked it up to tighten the plug up but its like the thing is striped. I cant tighten it. I also backed the plug out and it isnt cross threaded and goes in straight.
Did they screw this up or am I missing something?

Many thanks!!
John

They did

not install a new crush washer. They did not use the proper procedure of suction out the dipstick tube. They did not install a fleece filter. They did not use mb spec synthetic 0w40 wt. oil.
That's what you are missing
Have them pay to fix the damage if they over torqued the plug and have the proper oil and filter and procedure done either by yourself or a qualified indie shop that knows what they are doing.
Quick lubes do not know how to properly change oil in a mercedes.

ohlord answered your question, but I can tell you that I recently did my own oil and filter change for the first time, and my E320 won't go back to the dealer for such an easy task. Mercedes makes it easy by having the filter mounted just under the hood; I wish all vehicles were like this.

I bought an oil extractor from Harbor-Freight and here's my link to the oil change process that I did...

That does look easy enough. It will probably pay for itself after a couple of changes.

Thanks again guys.

The 2.5 gallon unit

is only 20 bucks,Richard just could not wait to get his hands dirty
So the 2.5 gallon unit pays for itself the first time out of the box.

do I have to use an extractor to change the oil? isn't it enough just draining?

Much

simpler, neater,no worry of getting the car at the exact angle to drain it all out,all done from the top side, faster, the way the shop does it..............

ahhh, but that wonderful feeling of sliding under the car on an old piece of cardboard to drain from the bottom. And of course getting your hands coated with smelly old waste oil. Who can give that up?
