I am putting in my key, and the car is acknowledging the key in the ignition, but I can't turn the key to unlock the steering. Is there a bypass , or other?
I ask this because I believe I can get the key to turn if I could unlock steering. I think the key is not turning because when I originally switched off the car, the car never recognized that I had shifted it into "park" , and as such , it is treating it as though the shift is not in "park" .
I can't move the shift from "park" .
Thanks

If anyone has solutions or Jonssen's PDF, please forward it to me. Thanks again.
I am thankful for any help please I am a struggling single father, I am losing my job all because my car locked up completely unexpectedly. I am positive it is the anti theft pin locking up in my 1997 e320 (w210 chassis), as confirmed by a MB specialist.
If you could please send me the video and PDF or advice anything is greatly appreciated.
I know this is possible I've heard of multiple people disarming the lock. I just need to know the proper instructions. Also your way is the only I know without destroying my vehicle.
Thanks and again any and all advice is appreciated. Also if anyone else has this information please send it to me.
Thanks

Thanks a bunch
I have a euro version E300 1996. I found a problem before i installed my switch.
The original switch is the green one in the sleeve, I have removed the whole assembly in Position 1. In Pic 1 you'll see the position that the wheel lock insert is in and it matches the Pins position in Pic 2.
In the Pic 2 " Green Switch" , u can see a pin that goes through the switch in the wheel lock insert in a vertical position, so that must be postion 1.
In Pic 3, you can see what holds the pin in that position.... the exit port of the switch or the switch itself.
Pic 4 shows you how I've assembled the new switch, but the PIN is not in the same position to enter the wheel lock insert. The switch's exit port came that way as if it was in Position 0. The key however stayed in Position 1 and I didnt mess with it.
How can i change or correct it, so that it matches the wheel lock insert?
don't you? if you've read the thread, you'll see this mentioned several times
and will understand why he may no longer be responding to posts in this thread.
Much appreciated
