My 2000 W210 had same problem, I bought an emulator for 13 dollars, i fully charged the battery, then removed dash panel underneath located the ESL found connector , took small hammer a tapped on ESL a few times with key in position after a few times it unlocked and I disconnected the ESL fitting installed emulator all is well no cutting nothing to difficult car still has lock on but it is disconnected and can't re-lock at all. so I am satisfied.
