Seat fittment

Will w210 e55 seats "bolt on" to a a w210 e320. They should, but what about if the e55 seats have heaters? Do they have a different plug for the wires? I do not expect to get the feature, just want the reclining to work

What year is your E320? If you wanted to add seat heaters to your car I believe all cars have the same harness if they do or do not have heated seats. You will have to run an extra cable from the seats to the switch panel, not a big deal (especially since you will be removing your seats anyway). Everything else is plug and play and should work immediately upon installation.

96-99 seats should be compatible. 00-02 are interchangeable but i dont
recall if they're backward compatible with pre-facelift models. 211s will not
drop into 210s. some features require version coding via SDS machine so it
depends on what features you dont have now...and can have later.

i have whole seat set for 96-99 in charcoal if you need. heat. no ventiliation.
std - not multicontour. 85-90% shape. 98144. includes matching door panels

So I MAY be able to add heated seats, maybe even vented ones. I have a 1997.

I have light grey colored seats and will need to stick to this color so I do not have to change out seatbelts ect. Are the 210 seats compatible with any other models I can keep my eyes on?

I retrofitted my '01 wagon with heated seats.

Parts required
New upholstery with built in heating elements
One (only) wiring harness
New dashboard switch set that includes switches for seats
New dashboard wood with holes for the new switches.
Two new fuses

If your replacement seats already have the heating elements, then all you'll need are the last four items.

The wiring harness, BTW, connects to BOTH front and rear fuse boxes, so you'll remove a LOT of your interior to install it.

WIS procedures
AN91.20-P-0001A Retrofit seat heater for front seats
AN91.30-P-0001-01A Retrofit wiring harness of heated seats for front seats

... will come in handy.

12 other WIS procedures are sub-referenced.

The post facelift model W210 seats fit pre-facelift. I installed vented seats about 2 months ago and it was plug and play. I just had to run a couple extra wires for the switch plate and power. I currently have my old seats that I am trying to get rid of. They are heated, I also have the wood panel in both double din and single din format.

Raymond,

I know you switched to an E55 interior, are those your old seats? I have a simliar set that I am trying to move, without the door panels.

yes, those were the seats prior to my E55 mod. i've been so busy I've not
made any real attempts to sell. shipping's a beyoch so local sale would
be more cost effective for the buyer if they need charcoal.

in the meantime, i bring them out into the backyard on BBQ weekends because
the MB seats add a certain flair to events

j/k - ey're under cover in the basement

209/W210 Estate /W211 modded by MBENZNL
I Added The AMG E55 Seats to my W210 Estate

They are Full option seats with Heat/Vented/Multicontour
The Multicontour requires a different PSE for the feature to work
and controls at the inner seat

1997 E420
Wanted to add on to this thead for anyone coming across it in the future. I just put 2000+ E55 seats into my 1997 E420. They did not adjust right off the bat so I swapped the electronic module on the bottom of the old seats into them and they seem to work just fine.

In addition, the SRS seat sensor pad in the passenger seat is DIFFERENT for newer cars. On early W210's like mine, the wiring goes into the RED connector on the seat, rather than the yellow one you will read about in the DIY's for changing it and as you will see on 2000+ seats (and maybe some earlier). I've yet to discover if the wiring on these newer seats ALSO goes into the red connector. I need to clear my errors using SDS or carsoft to see if the sensor is recognized. Otherwise, a retrofit of the OLD sensor pad into the passenger seat is going to be required. Shouldn't be a big deal, though it is a bit of effort as the seat upholstery has to be opened up as described in the DIY's.

I also need to finish hooking up the multicontour air bladders and seat heaters but I think those are going to be straightforward after running the air tubes for the bolsters and the new extra wiring harness for the heaters.

Since I can't find a set of stock E55 front seats, I cam across these non AMG seats but still from a W210 E class and trying to figure out if these are heated or not?
Seems like these came over from a European W210 E class?

I don't have definitive answer but I took poor photos of my heated front seats. Note that the driver seat has one less connection so I
suspect that the extra harness (yellow) on the pax side is for the child seat sensor ? Also, the frosted white hose feeds
the air bladders in the seats. The car is in storage mode so I'm not planning to move it for a few weeks/months to get
better lighting/photos

One other thought is that the only wiring that goes into the driver seat (in case you can trace it from the female connectors)
should be going to the heating element woven into the seat itself. I would guess the remaining harnesses feed the motors
for fore/aft and headrest
