Any ideas on cause of a front camber split?

Hello all; my 1997 E320 has new shocks, tires, good bushings and rust-free spring perches. However, after a good 4-wheel alignment, she still pulls a very little bit to the right- just enough to be annoying.

Anyway, front camber right side was 6 degrees positive, and left 4 degrees positive- a 2 degree split. They said that there's not a lot they can do- Odd.

Anyone had camber issues before?

6 degrees

the car would not drive
-.5 camber for the street is a good balance, what shop left you with that excuse? You need the dealer machine, someone did not use a lock bar and if really 6 degrees something is seriously wrong, even camber eccentrics could not adjust that out.And your tires won't last 5000 miles.Get it to the dealer, get it on a hunter machine, have it done properly.

Thanks ohlord... TrueLine in Chula Vista, Ca. Pretty sketchy, but reccomended by Discount Tires after I put on the new meats. Guy did the alignment with a lit smoke dangling from his mouth and said that all Mercedes have some degree of camber split. No steering wheel lock and used the 'ol white grease pencil on spinning wheel. Hmmmm. OK, I'll try another...

Dealer

machine hunter.

-2.5 is race car territory
6degrees positive and your tire would be tilting out of the wheel wells at the top and your car would be riding on the outside of the tires.

Yeah- I would imagine the overall alignment is more or less straight- It's a very minor pull, and all tires and whees sit straight. This guy's strings and chalk arn't too straight, though. Headed to a very reputable shop with Hunter machine (no lasers or lights). Thanks again...

04 Civic Hopefully an 00-02 E55 one day
Maybe he meant .6 degrees and .4 degrees of camber. Most of the time the cause of the right pull is the crown on the road. Might be a dumb question but do you drive with your hands of the steering wheel? Most of the times customer complaint is due to driving with hands off the steering wheel. I know it sounds rediculous but most people think the cars should drive themselves :p

E320
Hello all. I am newbie. Ok so this is an old thread but I have the same problem with my 97 E320 with 63k miles on it - love the car!! It was pulling to the right when I let go of the steering wheel a little. I always believed that it should not pull to one side or the other - at least not consistently to one side. It is not as serious but still irritating. I took it to my local alignement shop who said it was on the dead center. -5 and -5 (font) and the rearer was a little off. He however showed some wear on the lower arm ball joints and said that it may be the problem. I kinda doubt because they did not look that bad to cause this kind of pull. Or could it? Also, I just change my rear tires before the alignment. The left rear tire had wear in the inside tread much more that the outside - part of why I thought it was an alignment problem. BUT why only one tire? Front tires had even wear when I replaced them. I guess my question is, what ended up being the cure for yours? Please help before I buy the ball joints and do a repair that may not cure the disease - haha... Thanks!!!!!
