The 512'S got horrible reviews from ADAC (German AAA), saying they were by far the worst in wet/rain.

According to Tire Rack and Discount Tire the 912 is the update of the 512. My wife has the 912s on her car after rolling for 48k miles on the 512s. At one third tread depth the hydroplane effect of the 512 was very bad hence the change. Go for the 912s and you will like them. Also the yokohama S drive is an excellent tire. I ran them for 21k miles before switching to General Exclaims. Price point dropped but the ride and traction quality are very close. I now have 9k miles on them. They stick very well in wet and dry in aggressive driving. Just some other options.
