BAS/ASR ABS warning

I can't pinpoint a certain condition when it happens. It seems to happen more under wet conditions, but then again it also happens in dry weather. Sometimes the warning goes away when I turn off the engine and restart again, sometimes it stays on the whole trip. I've done some reading up on these fourms about it, however when the warnings lights are on the cruise-control still works!? Is this an indication of something in particular?

Should be one of three issues: Speed sensor, brake switch or batt voltage. I'd rule out the latter two first.

Check your fuses. My car does this occasionally and all I have to do is "wiggle" the fuse and the warning lights go off (the fuse is not blown).

I think we can rule out the speed sensor cuz the cruisecontrol is working while the warning is on!

Where is this fuse located? There's no fuse listed for BAS-ASR-ABS, not in the fusebox under the hood, nor in the fusebox under the back seat. Might it be the #9 15Amp fuse located in the left side of the dashboard that says "tempomat/brakelights"?

If checking the above fails I'll get a new brakeswitch!

You have a 'brake light switch' that will soon need to be replaced (very common) - you will periodically get the warning signals; the brake light switch is going bad! It is a really easy DIY for under $20 at your local MB dealership! Good luck!
