Hooked Cell phone to car
I had an idea
My benz came equipped with the Command navi. In the glove box there is a 3.5 audio plug. Since my Palm Treo cell phone has Mp3 player like Ipod, I attempted to hook it up. The audio wire I have has a 3.5 plug and I had to buy an adapter from a electronics store. I bought an adapter 2.5 plug (male), that has a 3.5 inlet (female). I connected the 2.5 male end to the cell phone and I had sound. All I did is put the Command unit on AUX.While it was hooked up I also tried to make a call. It worked perfectly with no problem, just no mic. I could hear everything threw my speakers. Then I had an idea!! Buy another adapter with 2 female ends and one male 3.5, and 2.5 female with a 3.5 male plug. Then I connected the headphone/mic combo that came with the phone. Hooked it all up and works perfect. The music player works good and it automatically pauses when I get a call. I hid the wires in glove box
