Brake Problem...

About month ago I had my brakes changed. Everything was good...smooth but then my brakes seem to become "loose" over time. I took my 99 e320 to a local shop. The mechanic said my pads were good & no air leaks etc & bleed the brakes. Afew weeks later the same problem occurs. I took back to the local shop & bleed they brake again & he recommended I take my car to the benz shop...he stated it maybe a problem with the abs.

DEpends

was it the same shop that installed your brakes? If it is the go have them bled properly with the proper pressure bleed system. If they did it wrong they may have introduced air into the system.
Find a good MB shop and have it done correctly.

No a family friend installed the pads. I will do so far as going the mb shop. If its something with the abs system what would be the ideal cost to fix?

It most likely

is not or you would have abs warning lights and it would shut off the abs system.Your pedal is soft, air is still in the system and keeps working its way to the master. You did not have the trouble before the pads, air got introduced and it is probably time to have the system completely flushed anyway so you have all fresh fluid.Makes a big difference.

does not have sense what dealer said

Hi there,
I had similar problem on my infiniti but if you abs sensor does malufunc. that means you still have ordinary brakes strong like nothing happened. If it is problem with abs you will have issue on slippery road because brakes could lock and car will be starting to slide.
I think you have still air in brake lines and that is why you will feel like soft brake pedal from time to time depends when that air bubble hit brake cylinder.Tell me how did they bled the brakes?Did they do every caliper or just one on the back?
do you losing any brake fluid from time to time? DOT-4 buy if you need to fill up.
another thing could be vacuum issues too.
