Put some

dri packs that absorb humidity in the int.
Hook the charging post under the hood to a trickle charger,to keep the battery fully charged.Harborfreight tools has them for about 7 bucks.

Put a can of seafoam gas and injector treatment in the fuel tank before you park it.Drive it every two weeks at least to normal operating temp.Operate the a/c on full cold for 5 minutes at that time also to keep your a/c seals and compressor lubricated.
It will be all ready come spring.

Thumbs up procedure....

So first I have to connect trickle charger as you said...
-now question is, do I have to remove 6 cups on the battery to provide venting for it or not ?And for how long I have to leave charger to charge battery?

-I heard tire should be at higher pressure and parked on the particle board(or some plywood piece) not on the concrete.

-gas tank full to avoid corrosion from inside.(Fuel stabilizer like you said)

- couple mechanics told me to start car every month and run engine for about hour, move couple feet back and park not on the same spot to avoid tires "bubble" ,beside that I have to hold brake and shift through every gear to get seals lubricated.

-a/c will run as per your advise

I believe that is it ......one Benz in storage.

thank you ohlord!

The battery is

vented. So you need do nothing, just hook it up to the underhood charging post.It shuts off when charged and only lets about 2amps flow when volt fall.
Far better to drive it every few weeks and let it get to temp and move, than to run it in place and just move it a few feet.
Last thing and no joking,if you do leave it for a long period of time.Rats and mice love the insulation on the wires,so make sure no gaps in the garage and place traps someplace along the walls if you have seen evidence of the creatures

Question battery...

I did few times test on battery reading come 12.26v ,I have connected to battery charger 12v 2 amp. (very slow charge) and after aprox 40 min. reading was 13.8v further more after 4 hours back to 12.26V like before.
Does it mean that battery will not accept charge?

while I was charging after 40 min. green light come on from the charger for 20 sec and back to red light charging(for about 2-3 min. )and again same ,start looping like that several cycles.Does that mean something is draining battery or that is normal way of charging ?

thanks

You

want it on a battery tender, not a 2amp charger.Unless it has a tender cycle that prevents overcharging.Get one of those little hbfreight tenders or any other brand of long term storage battery savers.
Remember drive it,and check for sleeping rats

Thumbs up thank yo u OhLORD

I checked again and yes this charger has auto cutoff mode to prevent overcharging, beside that I was running car once a week just for about 30 min. (until it was reaching operating temp.)
and yes I constantly checking for new tenants undr car.So far everything is ok .NO visitors .
Last measurement 12.89 V after charging couple days before.
I have added destill H2o in each battery cell just to make sure it has enough fluid in it during charging.

One more thing ,after replacing trans.fluid ,filter and adding big magnet in the trans. oil pan car is shifting so smoth, like it just come from factory.
very pleased with that .

Thumbs up yes

I did it and it is very cool .I had one time to get out from the car it was like in deep freezer....LOL

You are right on that way we can keep seals well lubricated and prolong life of them.

I am totally confident in this car that next spring will be best ever

Please explain the "bid magnet" as I am going to change all of my fluids soon, with the help of Ohlords DIY instructions.

Thank you in advance!

My MG had been in my garage for a few years and I had not fooled with it. Last summer I fixed a few things and was driving it. Well the first time I started it all kinds of little seeds came out the exhaust! Apparently there was a critter residing in there at some time. I read about this kind of thing happening elsewhere too. Even read about mice making it all the way up to the cylinder. Although I can't picture them making it past the catalytic converter of a newer vehicle. I did read that a wad of steel wool stuffed in the tailpipe keeps them out. Just remember to remove it before starting the car.

Thumbs up merry christmas

Sorry I was away for a while ,answers to your question LeeRod80
is: yes you will need a magnet on the bottom of the oil pan just in case any particles come from tr any.
Why?---->All those particles It is better to be attracted by big magnet, than send them back in the system where possibly could damage some seals or something else.
I am using o-ring magnet it ( cost me $0.99 @ some variety store)Does not have to be O-ring but make sure it is flat and not to thick that will be touching any trans components when you put oil pan back.

7.2 lit transmission fluid was replaced 100% fluid from dealer (I had to buy 8 lit.)
NOTE: ---do not over fill.
NOTE2:---do not under fill (what happened to me due to problem with my custom design transmission dipstick from lawnmower.I had 6,2 lit in it and car was running ok but after test for kickdown from 60 km to 90 km car just dissengage transsmission and put into safety mode ,I was freerolling down the street with no changing gears, nothing just neutral .I was pulling on side of road ,level fluid turn engine off and on and was able to drive back to add more fluid.
NOTE3: Be carefull with dipstick it has to be inserted all the way in.

LeeRod80 make sure you drain fluid from oil pane and transfer case as well.
total will be around 7.0 lit.drained or less.(depends if someone replaced before )

good luck and happy holidays

so far so good

voltage is steady 12.26 on battery every Sunday runs for 20 min (or longer until reach operating temp.)

before start I hooked it up to car charger to warm up battery
no residents so far Mickey Mouse not interested in this garage.

....went for spin last time on the fresh snow to see how will handle slippery roads and I was very impressed big, big difference between c-class previously owned e-320 more stable and safe than c-class (due to weight )

Toyo (215)tires are great better than Michelin pilot

one question: did anybody heard about NOKIAN tires from Finland?R they any good? best price ?

1998 E430 (W210) Long Long term storage

Any suggestions for starting a E 430 (W210). After sitting outside for 4yrs. I plan on changing the oil and pulling the plugs and squirting a little in each cylinder before cranking.. I'm not sure how much gas was left in the tank or was there any stabilizer before it was parked.. I was planning to drain the gas tank and refill if it not full already, I don't care about flat spots, ill be buying new tires..
