Retaining water...

My e320 has been parked for a couple days, and it rained a fair amount two days ago. I drove it today and came back to find a substantial water trail left on the ground where I had driven off 15 minutes earlier...like a 3-inch wide strip of water at least 40 feet long...looked like a Geo Metro did a wicked 1-wheel burnout. It appears to have come from the right side of the car, and the strip doesn't start until the point that I started accelerating down the street.

Any idea where this could be coming from?

There are drain holes at various locations under the car. I'd guess one might be plugged and the water surges to the next one on acceleration. I would investigate quickly as you don't want water trapped in any area for a long time.

Pop up

the rear seat and look in the battery box area.Known water collection spot.
Or your sun roof drain may be plugged and leaking into your trunk.
Just 2 of the common starting points.

Tip for the future, don't park it for a few days I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't drive a Mercedes at least everyday.

The Splash pans hold water and will cause the complaint

Everytime I Wash the 210 and 211 they leave a trail of water
from the front bumper and engine splash pans

Yes they have drain holes but not at the lowest section of the pan..go figure

I believe I once had a post about this called 'water sloshing in the chassis'. There are 4 "vent-rubbers" around the car, two directly behind the front wheels and 2 in front of the rear wheels. Crouch and look/feel for a round rubber shape with a hole in the middle, pinch those holes with your little finger, often one or more are clogged up and you'll find a stream of water coming from them...

You were absolutely right! The right front rubber nipple must have been clogged...one good pinch and the water started pouring out, but then slowed to a drip when I let go. How should I go about unclogging the vent?
