Paint Code: Where?

There is a metal plate near the radiator on my '99 E320 Wagon but I don't know if the paint color code is one of the numbers on it. Anyone know, or should I make a trip to the dealer to find out? The charts at Auto Zone offer no help.

seemed to interpret the paint code data sufficiently for me to place order,

Or

run your vin on the vin decoder and it will tell your the code and the mercedes name in case someone repainted the car and you find out it was originally lime green

On the radiator support tag there is a group of numbers on the left and a group on the right (looking into the engine compartment - not in the direction of travel). In the left group, at the bottom should be two 3 digit codes. The right 3 digit code is the paint code. To it's right will be an "M" if it is metallic and just below that will be a "C" if the paint is clear coat.

Also, there is a black sticker with the paint code and option codes. On the sedans it is located under the hat shelf in the trunk. Next to the word "Lack" is the paint code. I don't know where that sticker is on a wagon. I would guess it is somewhere in the cargo are.

There were limited color choices for the 1999 W210:

040 - Black
143 - Glacier White
197 - Obsidian Black
257 - Dark Turquoise
567 - Bordeaux Red
702 - Smoke Silver
744 - Brilliant Silver
904 - Midnight Blue

Thanks guys for the quick responses, since my car is white I am guessing that the code is 143F according to the under hood plate. I don't know what the "F" would stand for. Anyone?

The 040 black non metallic also has a

F after it.
Our white wagon also after the paint code.
Both with C for clear below the F.
So F must stand for FINE looking car

The German adjective for solid is "fest" - perhaps that is what the "F" means.

Wagon: Open the right hatch or whatever I should call it in the back (where the cd-changer and bose amplifier is located). On the frame (or whatever it is) there is a black sticker.

Just to clear that up

Thanks, I found the code in the CD changer compartment and it is indeed 143.
