A 95
could be w210 depending where it was sold and how they register it in different countries. The W210 was produced from 1995-2002 and the wagon until 2003.
Look on your door post it will give you the production date of the build.
Now if you had one of the 1995 w210 models with the smallest engine built at the plant in Vietnam, then that would be the unflattering record.

OK, I am still holding the record in this forum .
Ohlord is right about the ones built in Vietnam, I heard a lot of quality problems with those cars, simply because the Vietnamese workforce was not well trained at that time. They were just in the transition from marxist-stalinist economy to "capitalism".
MB introduced one of the first foreign car plants there, for Vietnam a big leap from bicycle manufacture to luxury car production.
But the cars from Vietnam - at least the ones in the first years- hardy make out of the country. The production was small and just covered the need of the new-rich and the corrupt cadres.

yeah, mb launched w210 in 1995 in certain countries, just like the w220 was launched in 1999 in certain countries while in the usa was 2000. i think the same thing for w221 and w140.

W210 was launched in Europe in 1995, there are lots of 1995 registered W210's overhere. The W210 wagon came late 1996. These early models all have the older 4-speed auto tranny, only two airbags, no ASR and no smartkey. You want to stay away from these first models since they have ALL the common problems plus severe rust everywhere including spring perches and subframes. I also hate the older infrared keys; you open the car to load your groceries and once you're behind the wheel the timeframe to crank has passed; out goes the key; point it to the rear view mirror; in goes the key; etc. etc.
Oh and btw; MB USA only imported 6-cylinder models with leather interiors.
Overhere in Europe we have 4- and 5-cylinder (both Petrol and Diesel) models, cloth interiors and no A/C, manual A/C or climate control, and even special 'taxi' versions with a 'detuned' diesel engine and vinyl taxi-'leather' interiors.
My car has a pacific blue cloth interior and manual A/C...

All 210s have severe rust/oxidation problems. My car has been repaired for over 200 000 NOK the last two years. That is almost 30 000 USD/20 000 EUR.
New subframes, sandblasted everything under the car and repaired the whole body. Stuttgart have paid for everything

Semikolon: regarding rust, it must be the harsh winter high up there in Norway, the salt is eating the body away. I have no such problem in dry Texas, not even with the infamous spring perch. knock wood! Your repair were paid by MB after 6 years? still under warranty?

Year lots of water all year and salt in the winter...
MB pays for everything up to 8 years/250 000km, unless there are signs of damage to the paint. Things like subframes and spring perches are 10 years and a lot more kms.. After that they pay for parts of the repairs, for example 50%. So the last repair I had was two weeks before the car was 8 years , or actually the 8 years and one week after it was delivered from factory, but first time registered is what matters.

that is because of the weather conditions probably. Here in Norway there isn't a single 210 without rust on every corner (unless it has been repaired of course..)

That's a downright shamefull mark on the marque. We haven't had that much of a rust bucket here in the USA since the 76 - 81 Honda Accord.
That said, Ol' 97 was a Melanoma poster child. 3 trunk lids in 11 years, all 4 corners perforated. Only 89,000miles, garage kept, religiously dealer serviced the entire time. They only thing Mercedes covered were the trunk lids.

The diesel W210s here in the USA also had MB-tex as standard. The '96 E300d was priced at $39,900 so MBUSA could claim that the new E-Class had a starting price of less than $40K. The '96 E320 (leather standard, along with some other additional stuff) started at $43,500. Both cars were priced cheaper than their W124 predecessors.
