Is it possible to retrofit a COMMAND on a 97 E420?
HI,

Can anyone tell me is it possible to retrofit COMMAND into a 97 E420? There is no fiberoptic used in 97 E420 and I think the COMMAND needs a fiberoptic system? Correct me if I am wrong.

Yes You can Install The Comand Into a Early W210
You will need the Correct Comand,Replacement wood,The Cage,And Misc Pieces for the Install

It is very doable and have been done before. The Comand only need Fiber optics for the CD changer... I have seen a Comand installed in a 1994 C280.

Installing comand in any W210 E-class is a 4 hour job...max...and everything WILL function (egardless what your dealership tells you).
I installed 3 210 comands sofar and have 4 to go (of which 3 within days from now).

1300USD excl. the 250USD woodpiece...I will be in the NY area to do some more comand installs soon...somewhen at the end of May...

COMMAND installation in NY?
Hi Steve,

I have a 97 E420 and I live in Queens, NY. Would you be able to install COMMAND for me when you are in NY in May?

Its $1300 installed + $250 Wood piece. Does that include a Fiberoptic CD Changer? Is it possible to watch DVD with the command you are installing? Would I need to purchase an additional Mobile DVD player?

Please let me know when you are in NY area.
