inverted torx bits
Anybody have a source for buying these? Our valve covers use the Torx bolt heads. Where do you buy the bits to remove these kinds of bolts?

i picked up a set off Ebay pretty inexpensively couple of yrs ago and have been using
the various bits and sockets on motorcycles and the MB since. i thought it was a
great investment for the price.
example, ebay auction # 250404575512

How much were those you bought on Ebay? I find every once in awhile that I need one of those things too.....................
ohlord, I need one right now to tighten up a loose torx on my 01 E430. Just under the oil cap mine is leaking ever so slightly. There is an inspection cover so to speak and sits on top of the valve cover just above the coil packs that incorporates the oil filler cap thingy. The first small torx in front of the oil filler cap is way loose. Inserted a regular 5/16 allen wrench in to tighten and that didnt get it tight enough. As you know I couldnt tighten it very much using that tool.........as it might ruin the bolt.
While at the dealership yesterday I inquired about a gasket for under that cover and they said there is none. Just a liquid gasket so I bought the stuff, $16.00 for a tube. Once I get the correct tool set I'll remove that small cover, clean, and then reseal it. But until then it needs to be snugged up..........

It cost 27.95 plus 11 for shipping for a 35 piece set with case under Boston Industrial tools. It had 11 inverted torx bits and the regular as well as the tamper proof torx with the hole in the center. Gaskets do flatten over time and things need to be snugged up a bit so this set should be handy.
