considering purchase of 2000-2002 E320 wagon

I have my eye on this one but the deaaler told me they just did the transmission over. Didnt get into asking why tho. I will today. Im having it inspected by a certified MB Tech that services mostly MB's.
The Carfax is says its been in accident.
Love the color which is very rare. Mileage is low. Could this still be a good buy?
You can see a free carfax report if you click the link.

Price is average for a car that has not been in an accident. Black interior where you are will get really hot in the summer. Try auto trader.com or cars.com for comparisons. I bot mine from CA while living in Florida. Don't be afraid to expand your search and get a good deal. Members in the area will be willing to help you verify the car. Have it thoroughly inspected.

Love that color combination! To me, the price seems reasonable regardless. If you can obtain better history on the accident, perhaps it would give you a better understanding of what risk you're taking. You can also use that history to negotiate a lower price. Cool car, nonetheless.

2003 E320 4Matic Wagon & 1997 E320
I have to say that the number of service/repair visits for this wagon is just way too much. 2 sets of motor mount replacements in less than 30k miles? So many checks for the control modules, numerous tire mounting and balancing, etc. I have a feeling that something is wrong with this wagon after the accident.

You have a point. I think I'm gonna. Leave this one alone. I wouldn't have even known that the tranny was done untill someone (a dealer) there just happened to walk by and tell me. They may have told me anyway. They seemed to be pretty honest. Then again what dealer is?

Thanks. I will keep looking around but Im running out of time. My R class lease is up.
Gotta do sumthin!!!!

There were also quite a few repair/services related to the transmission.

holy cow, with all of the money sunk into repairing and maintaining that car, it just has to be worth like $100K. i can't believe the problems. imho, you need to run from that car.

Thanks and it is true. There are members who will help yo get a good deal. Someone recently did for a fellow in Houston. Heck I'll do it here in PA West if anyone needed help. Is is part of the sport and love for these cars and others. I have verified many Shelbys and Bosses for people in the past. Why not help, it is fun and you learn a little more and maybe a new friend out of it.

What will it cost me to find a gem wagon early next year? Looked at w211 wagons lately but I was not impressed with the pricetag or horror stories...Need to find a gem w210 for the wife //rwd, white or silver, facelift, low miles. That shouldn't be too hard?

I've always made it a policy to NEVER purchase a car that has been in an accident. The money saved might very well be spent later in related repairs. If you can afford it, spend more and get a solid, clean and reliable car. Good luck on whatever you chose!!
