Your thoughts on wagon 3rd row safety!

Anyone have any experience or reference to how the safety is of the e-class W210 wagon 3rd row, particularly in a rear collision situation?

Mercedes is leader in safety

A member from one of the forums was rear ended while at a traffic light at 60 mph! Nothing happened to him or occupants in the car. I didn'd save the thread - only the picture. Hope that helps.

Cheers

WOW, amazing photo. We've got the same car.

MBz is known for its structural integrity - - whether old or new.

No airbags, in the middle of the crush zone, sitting on top of the gas tank.

Awesome. Although don't spin at 200K on the Autobahn and clip a barrier:

...And definitely follow the 10% rule whilst operating your beloved MB (If you're not sure on that one, just remember to try being at least 10% smarter than what your working with)...

Hi,
Sorry don't mean to bring up an old thread. But I agree with you. But then again, can't the same thing be said about all third row vehicles?

Also, any way to make the third row face forward?

Thanks

No, there is no way to change the direction of the seat. Even if you could, there would be no way for a passenger to get into the seat.

Well if you could you could always have the occupants climb over the second row (which in my case would be little kids (3 and 4 yr olds)). I know it wouldn't be pretty but I would prefer it over the rear facing third row any day.

Virtually every single safety feature afforded the front and second row occupants is absent in the third row seating. How could they be just as safe?
