'07 R350. '05 C230. '93 454SS Truck. '71 Chevelle SS.
Crackling sound when in Drive and Reverse
'02 E320 with 105,000 just started making a "crackling" sound through the drive train ONLY when in Drive and Reverse. Any ideas...???!?!?!

Check the
shifter bushings in the linkage. when worn they transmit a racket into the cabin.

Bad cats
sound like gravel in a tin can. If a cat is bad and you are in Ca. you can't use universal cats you need CARB Ca. numbered cats. Check the diy section on www.benzworld.org w210 section for some good deals and suggestions on where to get calif approved units.
